Salzburg- 9.24-9.26

On our way to meeting up with Amanda´s parents in Berlin, we took a pitstop in Salzburg. This involved a stop in Koln-Bonn where we had to pass through airport security. For some reason I set off the metal dector. This never happens to me. I was then subject to a pat down with a metal detector wand, in front of everybody. It turns out it was my underwire bra that set off the alarm. To be sure I wasn´t hiding bombs in my bra the security guard FELT ME UP! There was definite cuppage as she made sure I was safe to go through. I felt like Chandler in the episode where he goes to Joey´s tailor. Everything is going fine until someone's hands are passing over your chest. I whipped my head over to Amanda with a "Did you just see that? That isn´t normal right?" look on my face and she just laughed.

Maybe that is Victoria´s Secret. Wear her bras overseas and you might be lucky enough to have a hot David Hasselhoff* looking security guard feel you up. Luckily my security guard was a woman and my years at International School, where girlfriends poking you in the boobs was a normal activity, made my experience less traumatizing than it could have been. I was declared safe and passed through.


We only had one full day in Salzburg so we did what any wise American tourist would do.... The Sound of Music Tour!! Much like Sarajevo, this is not an opportunity to be passed up (although for different reasons). On the tour you drive to all the main filming locations and learn fun facts about the movie and the real life story. But most importantly you get to sing along to the soundtrack while fantasizing about Christopher Plummer and run around the Mirabell Gardens singing Do-Re-Mi. We will show you our video when we get back. It is dedicated to our dear friend Kalena.


Since it was pouring rain and really we only came to Salzburg for the S.O.M. tour, we gave up on sightseeing and went shopping at H&M and then to an internet cafe to post a blog. We forgot we were back in Western Euope until 55 minutes later when we were told we owed 11 Euro for our time on the computer. That is $15!!! In Eastern Europe we paid $2 max for an hour. I felt more violated than I did by the security guard at the airport. So we apologize for the delay in blogging but unlike the US government, we have decided to be economical and put blogging on hold until we get back to Eastern Europe.



*We do not actually think David Hasselhoff is hot. We just couldn´t think of any other German actors.
